Like other carols I’ve covered this year, IBTLALLC is a hype song about the gradual spread of decorations and other markers for the season. Meredith Wilson composed it in 1951 and Perry Como’s vocals did the heavy lifting to carry it over the airwaves, making it a perennial favorite.
No offense to Mr. Como, but the version that always plays in my head is by that one Canadian guy, Mickey Bubbles or whatever his name is. Why is he farting on this present? Strange people, those Canadians. Build a (northern) wall.
